My Experience Starting “News Pieces”

Starting News Pieces was an exciting journey into the world of digital publishing. Having used Blogger in the past, I felt comfortable navigating its features, so I decided it was the best platform for my new news blog.

First, I logged into my Blogger account and created a new blog. Choosing a name was an important step—I settled on News Pieces, reflecting my goal to deliver bite-sized, relevant news stories. To make a unique domain, I creatively pulled the "n" from News and fused it with Pieces, forming npieces.blogspot.com.

Landing on my newly created blog, I was met with a completely blank canvas. Designing it was my next challenge. I opted for a template that I found on blogger.

With the structure in place, I focused on the layout, refining the blog’s appearance to make it more user-friendly. Adjusting widgets, tweaking font styles, and organizing the homepage felt rewarding as News Pieces began to take shape.

Finally, with my blog visually set up, I was ready to share my first post—this very article, documenting my experience! It marks the beginning of my journey, and I look forward to growing News Pieces into a reliable source of news and insights.

Mass protests erupted across Benue State yesterday as hundreds of angry youths blocked major roads in Makurdi, expressing outrage over the persistent killings and displacement of residents by armed herders. This follows Saturday’s deadly attack in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area, where suspected herdsmen killed no fewer than 200 men, women, children, and displaced persons.
